Dental Specialties (24 hrs)
This unit will introduce students to the clinical knowledge of the eight dental specialties. Students will be able to identify instruments used and describe their functions. At the conclusion of this course students will have been taught to:
- Place retraction cord
- Impression taking and techniques
- Fabricate a provisional restoration
- Assist in the process of a crown preparation
- Assist with a suture removal
- Identify basic instruments used for oral surgery, endodontics and orthodontics
